cielamara @ 02:35 pm: Oh dear.
Okay, so, here's the deal for the third swap. First of all...I need all of you to re-send your addresses. I just realized that all of my information is on the other computer, and it's already packed away. So, please, please, please email me your mailing addresses again, as well as who you've swapped with to date...I remember most of the pairings, but not all of them. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.

Let's see...the title of this third swap is holiday-themed. Whether you want to play with the upcoming Christyulekwanznakah tangle of holidays, or if you want to reflect on the upcoming New Year...it's up to you. The due date for sending them out is December 22nd. That gives you all nearly three weeks to send them out. :) So, as always...have fun with it! And enjoy your holiday shopping. :)

cielamara @ 11:38 am: Third Swap!
Okay, I've not posted this sooner because my Internet has been skitzed, but...I think it's time for a third swap! As we get into the holiday season, it's very nice to get and give random little surprises, which is the whole point of our ATC swaps. So, thoughts on possible themes for this swap? :)

cielamara @ 08:47 pm: Have you?
...Received your ATC yet? I have! Thanks to the very pleasant, talented angelsdemise who sent me a beautiful card done with pastels! I had forgotten how pretty pastels are. Her card featured stylized autumn leaves, colored with the aforementioned pastels--nice and bright!--against a pretty manilla-golden background. Very soft and lovely, and it does a beautiful job capturing that soft mid-autumn warmth that makes the season so nice. I really need to take a picture of it when my parents return with the camera. Thank you very much for the lovely card, darling. :)

 So, who's gotten their card?

cielamara @ 02:51 am: All right, everyone. Most of the ATCs should have been sent by now, so, it's time to start thinking about our third swap. I've not decided on the theme yet, but I was thinking that it might be fun to add a little something to our beautiful ATCs: music! Music is such a huge part of our lives that it seems like it would be fun to include it in some way. So, I'd like to know who would be interested in putting together mixes of some of their favorite songs to send to their ATC recipient. This is just an inquiry, to see who's interested. :)

Poll #851058 Swap III.

How do you feel about swapping mixed CDs with the next ATC swap?

I CAN burn a mixed CD, and I'm interested in doing this.
I CANNOT burn a mixed CD, but I'm willing to pursue other musical exchanges.
I CAN burn a mixed CD, but I don't want to do this.
I CANNOT burn a mixed CD, and I don't want to do this anyway.

cielamara @ 05:27 am: Okay!
The emails are out...you should all have received an email with the mailing information of the recipient of your ATC. I can't wait to see/hear about what all you guys have created. I hope you're all having fun with this second swap (or first, for some of you.)

And FYI: sending out nine individual emails...that's more dizzying than it would seem. *grins*

cielamara @ 01:45 am: Second Swap!
Okay, everyone, now that we've had sufficient time to play with our pretties, it's time to get cranking on the second swap!

First things first: we have a new player or two joining the swap for this go-around! Everyone say hello to kshadow_chan, who's a fellow NaNoWriMo lunatic.

Second things second: I would be so thrilled if you all could try to rope in a few more players. Is there anyone you know who's on LJ who missed the first swap? If so, invite them to play. The more the merrier, right? :)

This second swap's theme is entitled, "Seasons of Love", and the idea is...show us your favorite season. As before, standard index card size (whichnomadicdragon has informed me is 3 by 5 or something like that.) and whatever medium or mediums you want! No requirements on any surprises, letters, or anything else like that...just your ATC. (I will say, though, that the beautiful note and shinies that prairie_dweller put in mine were really lovely. Thank you again!)

 Important dates:

October 15th: This is when I need any new players' addresses, or any address changes for current players. If you can't participate in this swap, let me know that by then, too.
October 20th: The last day to send off your ATC to your swap partner.

 Happy creating!

nomadicdragon @ 08:26 pm:

The ATC card that I created.

prairie_dweller @ 03:06 pm: Got a card!
Let's see, I received my card on the 23rd which was perfect timing; it was my first day back home from a two-week TDY in Virginia. It is quite a piece of art from nomadicdragon having an ocean scene with deep yellow light of sunset with a superimposed diamond area in the middle bearing a picture of a classical piece of statuary. As soon as I can dig my camera out of the closet I will try to include a pic. Or if nomadicdragon has a copy on her computer maybe she can attach it here.

If you can nomadicdragon please describe the particular processes that led you to choosing these elements for the card. I would like to hear what others consider when choosing elements, materials, themes, etc. for their cards.

On another topic, do folks put their cards into scrapbooks, hang them on their bulletin boards, or what? I actually keep mine in a large notebook full of baseball cards that is starting to exceed its capacity.

And cielamara, thank you for taking the time to organize the swap.

cielamara @ 11:49 am: And AGAIN...since I'm a dumbass and can't post in the right place...
I meant to post this on Monday, but I was dead tired when I got home from work. I got my card from prairie_dweller! I'm going to post a photo of it later, if I can find the camera, but I have to say, I'm really impressed! You said you weren't an artist...ha! Your card is awesome. And I loved the little extras you threw in there. Thank you for making it such a delight to receive. :) (Which was the whole point, right?)

I deleted the other entry, but nomadicdragon suggested we do a seasonal theme. Who's up for doing cards of their favorite season? I could go for that. :)

Oh, and you're welcome, wandereringray! I'm glad you liked it. I was really pleased with it. :)
